Andre Fletcher
Player Information
Andre Fletcher Player Overview
Andre Fletcher is an experienced West Indies wicketkeeper-batter who joins Abu Dhabi Knight Riders for DP World ILT20 Season 5 in 2026. Born on 28 November 1987 in Grenada, Fletcher is a right-handed top-order batter who has built a long career across international and franchise T20 cricket.
Abu Dhabi Knight Riders signed Fletcher for USD 40,000 at the Season 5 player auction. He arrives with extensive knowledge of the competition after spending the first four ILT20 seasons with MI Emirates, including their title-winning 2024 campaign.
Andre Fletcher Playing Style
Fletcher is primarily an opening batter and wicketkeeper. His batting is built around attacking the new ball, with boundary hitting playing an important part in his T20 game. He has also shown the ability to bat through longer periods when an innings requires more control.
Behind the stumps, Fletcher provides extensive wicketkeeping experience accumulated across international cricket and hundreds of T20 matches. Although career databases also record right-arm medium-fast bowling, he is not used as a regular bowling option and his main value comes through batting and wicketkeeping.
Which Team Does Andre Fletcher Play for in ILT20?
Andre Fletcher plays for Abu Dhabi Knight Riders in ILT20 Season 5. ADKR secured him for USD 40,000 during the 2026 player auction, ending his long association with MI Emirates in the competition.
Fletcher had represented MI Emirates from the inaugural ILT20 season in 2023 through the 2025-26 edition. His move to Abu Dhabi Knight Riders therefore gives one of the competition’s most experienced wicketkeeper-batters a new franchise for Season 5.

Andre Fletcher West Indies Career
Fletcher made his international debut for West Indies in 2008. His career includes 25 ODIs and 60 T20 internationals, with his most recent West Indies appearances coming in 2024.
He scored 984 runs from 60 T20Is at an average of 19.68, with six half-centuries and a highest score of 84 not out. Fletcher also completed 24 catches and three stumpings in T20 international cricket.
He was part of the West Indies squad that won the 2016 ICC Men’s T20 World Cup. During that tournament, Fletcher produced an unbeaten 84 against Sri Lanka, one of the best-known innings of his international career.
Andre Fletcher T20 Career
Franchise cricket has become the defining part of Fletcher’s career. By October 2026, he had played more than 360 senior T20 matches and scored over 9,000 runs, including five centuries and nearly 50 half-centuries.
His career has included competitions in the Caribbean, Bangladesh, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, UAE and United States. Fletcher has represented several franchises over the years, while his recent career has included MI Emirates and Los Angeles Knight Riders.
That volume of cricket makes him one of the most experienced specialist T20 batters in the ADKR Season 5 squad.
Andre Fletcher ILT20 Record
Fletcher has played 32 ILT20 matches across the first four editions of the competition, all for MI Emirates. He scored 741 runs from 30 innings at an average of 28.50 and a strike rate of 118.8.
His ILT20 record includes five half-centuries, 68 fours and 26 sixes, with a highest score of 96 not out. His most productive first two campaigns produced 303 runs in 2023 and 260 runs during the 2024 title-winning season.
Those numbers mean Fletcher arrives at ADKR with substantially more ILT20 experience than a player entering the UAE competition for the first time.
ILT20 Champion with MI Emirates
Fletcher played an important role when MI Emirates won the ILT20 title in 2024. He scored 260 runs during the season and produced a half-century in the final against Dubai Capitals.
Opening the batting in the championship match, Fletcher scored 53 from 37 balls, hitting three fours and four sixes. His innings helped MI Emirates post 208/3 before they successfully defended the total to secure the franchise’s first ILT20 championship.
That final remains one of Fletcher’s most significant ILT20 performances because it combined an individual half-century with a tournament title.
Andre Fletcher’s 96* in Abu Dhabi
Another standout ILT20 performance came against Desert Vipers in January 2025 at Zayed Cricket Stadium. Fletcher smashed an unbeaten 96 from 50 balls, including 10 fours and three sixes.
He shared a 198-run partnership with Tom Banton as MI Emirates reached 228/2. The Vipers were then dismissed for 74, giving MI Emirates a 154-run victory. Fletcher’s unbeaten 96 remains his highest score in the ILT20.
The location also makes the innings relevant to his new team: that performance came in Abu Dhabi, the home city he will now represent with the Knight Riders.
Recent Franchise Form
Fletcher has continued to produce substantial T20 innings late in his career. Playing for Los Angeles Knight Riders in Major League Cricket in 2025, he scored 289 runs from seven matches at an average of 41.29 and a strike rate of 158.79.
That campaign included two centuries. His highest was 118 from only 58 balls against San Francisco Unicorns, an innings containing 10 fours and eight sixes. He continued with Los Angeles Knight Riders in 2026, scoring 337 runs from 12 matches.
Andre Fletcher Starts a New ILT20 Chapter with ADKR
Fletcher’s move is unusual among ADKR’s Season 5 additions because he has been part of the ILT20 from the beginning. After four editions and 32 matches with MI Emirates, he now changes franchises for the first time in the competition.
He also arrives with an existing Knight Riders connection through Los Angeles. For ADKR, the combination is valuable: Fletcher already knows ILT20 cricket, has won the tournament, has produced a 96 not out at Zayed Cricket Stadium and has recently scored heavily for another Knight Riders franchise. Season 5 now gives him the opportunity to add a new Abu Dhabi chapter to a T20 career that has already passed 9,000 runs.
