Dubai Capitals won the ILT20 title in Season 3 (2025), defeating Desert Vipers by four wickets in a thrilling final at Dubai International Cricket Stadium. Chasing 189, the Capitals sealed victory with four balls to spare through Rovman Powell’s explosive 63 off 38 balls and Sikandar Raza’s match-winning cameo of 34 off 12 balls. It was the franchise’s first championship and confirmed them as one of the most dangerous batting sides in the tournament’s history.

The franchise is owned by GMR Group, the same ownership behind Delhi Capitals in the IPL. This connection gives Dubai Capitals direct access to the Delhi Capitals player ecosystem, coaching networks, and franchise infrastructure that stretches across multiple global T20 leagues. The team plays their home matches at Dubai International Cricket Stadium, the largest and most balanced venue in ILT20, and the ground that also hosts all playoff fixtures including the Season 5 final on 20 December 2026.

Dubai Capitals entered Season 4 as defending champions under newly appointed captain Dasun Shanaka, with head coach Hemang Badani continuing in his role. The Season 4 squad featured Rovman Powell, Tymal Mills, David Willey, Jordan Cox, Jimmy Neesham, Wanindu Hasaranga, and Shaun Pollock among others. Glen Chapple served as bowling coach. While the franchise did not retain the title in Season 4, the squad’s batting depth and variety of bowling options remain core strengths heading into Season 5.

The franchise logo features three falcon figures in navy blue and red, representing strength and unity, and has become one of the most recognised visual identities across ILT20.
