Anudeep Chenthamara
Player Information
Anudeep Chenthamara Player Overview
Anudeep Chenthamara is a Kuwait international bowler who returns to Dubai Capitals for DP World ILT20 Season 5. A right-arm medium-fast seamer, Anudeep has built his international career primarily through T20 cricket and brings previous experience of both the ILT20 and cricket in the Gulf region.
His return to Dubai Capitals is particularly significant because he is not entering the franchise environment for the first time. Anudeep represented the Capitals during the previous ILT20 season before earning another place in the squad through the Season 5 Player Auction.
Playing Style
Anudeep is a specialist right-arm medium-fast bowler and a lower-order right-handed batter. His international record shows that his main contribution comes with the ball, where he has been used as a wicket-taking seam option for Kuwait.
His best performances have combined wickets with economical spells. That ability is valuable in T20 cricket, where a bowler must often balance attacking for wickets with limiting boundaries during short spells.
Which Team Does Anudeep Chenthamara Play for in ILT20?
Anudeep Chenthamara plays for Dubai Capitals in DP World ILT20 Season 5. The franchise secured him during the Season 5 Player Auction, placing him among the 19 auction additions to Dubai’s 23-player squad.
He also represented Dubai Capitals in the previous ILT20 season. That experience gives him familiarity with the franchise and with the demands of playing alongside established international cricketers in the UAE-based competition.
Kuwait International Career
Anudeep made his T20 international debut for Kuwait against Hong Kong, China at Mission Road Ground in Mong Kok on 9 April 2025. He quickly established himself as a regular bowling option during Kuwait’s international schedule.
His first year in T20I cricket included matches against Hong Kong, Qatar, Nepal, Oman and Japan. By the end of 2025, he had taken 10 wickets from eight T20 internationals, including two three-wicket performances.
Best Bowling Performance Against Qatar
Anudeep recorded his best T20 international figures against Qatar on 12 April 2025 during the Hong Kong T20I Quadrangular Series. He took 3 wickets for only 15 runs from three overs as Kuwait restricted Qatar before completing a six-wicket victory.
His spell included 13 dot balls and an economy rate of 5.00. The performance demonstrated his ability to create pressure while taking wickets rather than relying on containment alone.
Other Notable T20I Performances
Anudeep followed his 3 for 15 against Qatar with another strong performance against Nepal, taking 3 for 18 as Kuwait secured a narrow three-run victory. He later recorded 2 for 19 against Oman and 2 for 22 in another match against Nepal during 2025.
His international career continued into 2026, including a three-match T20I series against Hong Kong. Across those matches, Anudeep returned figures of 2 for 27, 1 for 36 and 1 for 10, adding four wickets to his international record.
ILT20 and Kuwait Development Pathway
Anudeep’s route into the ILT20 also reflects the competition’s development pathway for Kuwait-based cricketers. After representing Dubai Capitals in the previous ILT20 season, he was selected for Pearl Strikers in the 2026 DP World ILT20 Development Tournament in Kuwait.
The development competition was staged ahead of the Season 5 Player Auction, providing Kuwait-based players with another opportunity to perform in front of ILT20 franchises. Anudeep subsequently secured his return to Dubai Capitals for the main tournament.
Anudeep Chenthamara in ILT20 Season 5
Anudeep enters Season 5 with a combination of Kuwait international experience and previous exposure to Dubai Capitals. In a squad containing established pace bowlers such as Mustafizur Rahman, Luke Wood and Matt Potts, he provides additional right-arm seam depth and another Gulf-based option for the franchise.
Dubai Capitals begin their Season 5 campaign against Abu Dhabi Knight Riders at Dubai International Stadium on 22 November 2026. For Anudeep, the tournament offers another opportunity to build on his previous ILT20 experience and continue his development at franchise level.
