Born in Durban, South Africa, on 11 March 1987, Munro is a left-handed batter who can also bowl right-arm medium-fast. He brings extensive international and franchise T20 experience to the ADKR batting group.
Munro joined Abu Dhabi Knight Riders through the ILT20 Season 5 player auction. His inclusion was confirmed in the tournament’s post-auction squad announcement, which listed him among 18 auction additions to the four players ADKR had secured before the auction.
Colin Munro Playing Style
Munro is primarily a left-handed batter and built much of his international reputation in limited-overs cricket. He has regularly been used near the top of the batting order during his career, where his ability to score at a high rate made him particularly suited to T20 cricket.
His completed New Zealand T20I career produced 1,724 runs at an average of 31 and a strike rate of 156.4. Munro also scored three T20I centuries. His bowling has been a secondary part of his game, with his established player records listing him as a right-arm medium-fast bowler.
Which Team Does Colin Munro Play for in ILT20?
Colin Munro plays for Abu Dhabi Knight Riders in ILT20 Season 5. He was one of the players added to ADKR at the 2026 auction and is included in the franchise’s published 22-player post-auction squad.
Munro is not new to the ILT20. He previously represented Desert Vipers and captained the team during earlier editions of the competition. His move to Abu Dhabi Knight Riders therefore gives ADKR a batter who already has experience of ILT20 cricket and playing in UAE conditions.
