Player Information
Haider Ali Player Overview
Haider Ali is a United Arab Emirates bowler who will represent Dubai Capitals in DP World ILT20 Season 5. He has developed into a regular bowling option for the UAE in T20 international cricket and enters the tournament with experience against a wide range of international opposition. Dubai Capitals signed him during the Season 5 Player Auction as one of their UAE selections.
Playing Style
Haider’s primary role is with the ball. His T20 international record shows an ability to control scoring while also providing wicket-taking spells, making him a useful option when a team needs to maintain pressure through the middle stages of an innings.
His growing international experience is particularly relevant in the ILT20, where UAE players have an important role in squad construction and the playing XI. For Dubai Capitals, he provides a locally qualified bowling option alongside a group of experienced overseas internationals.
Which Team Does Haider Ali Play for in ILT20?
Haider Ali plays for Dubai Capitals in DP World ILT20 Season 5. The Capitals secured him for US$38,000 at the Season 5 Player Auction, making him one of the franchise’s UAE signings for the 2026 tournament.
His selection adds local bowling depth to a Capitals attack that also includes international names such as Mustafizur Rahman, Noor Ahmad, Luke Wood and Matt Potts. The combination gives Dubai the option to balance its overseas selections while retaining specialist bowling quality in the XI.
UAE International Career
Haider has established himself in the United Arab Emirates T20 international setup. His early international record includes matches against teams from Asia, Africa and other ICC regions, giving him experience across different opposition and conditions.
During 2025, he produced several notable wicket-taking performances. These included three wickets for seven runs against Bangladesh and three for 20 against Japan, while he also took wickets in matches against Pakistan, Afghanistan, Kenya, Oman and Uganda.
Career-Best 4/16 Against Nigeria
One of Haider’s strongest international performances came against Nigeria in July 2025. He returned figures of 4 for 16, his best T20 international bowling figures. He also recorded 2 for 9 against Nigeria during the same period, showing his ability to produce economical wicket-taking spells.
His 2025 international campaign was particularly productive, with 29 wickets across 21 T20I bowling innings. Those performances formed the majority of his first 35 T20I wickets and helped establish him as a regular member of the UAE attack.
Experience in UAE Conditions
Unlike an overseas player arriving in the ILT20 for a short tournament, Haider already has substantial experience playing international cricket in the UAE. His T20I appearances include matches at Sharjah Cricket Stadium and Dubai International Cricket Stadium, two venues used regularly for major cricket in the country.
That familiarity can be valuable because conditions can vary between Dubai, Abu Dhabi and Sharjah. Understanding local pitches, boundaries and the effect of evening conditions gives UAE players knowledge that can complement the franchise’s overseas experience.
Haider Ali in ILT20 Season 5
Haider enters DP World ILT20 Season 5 as a UAE bowling option with a growing international record. His role is different from the Capitals’ headline overseas bowlers, but local players are an important part of building a balanced ILT20 lineup.
Dubai Capitals begin their Season 5 campaign against Abu Dhabi Knight Riders in Dubai on 22 November 2026. For Haider, the tournament offers an opportunity to bring his UAE international experience into a franchise environment featuring established international cricketers from around the world.
