Muhammad Rohid Player Overview

Muhammad Rohid is a UAE international left-arm pace bowler who joined Abu Dhabi Knight Riders for DP World ILT20 Season 5 in 2026. Born on 29 September 2002, Rohid has developed from UAE domestic cricket into an international bowler and an established performer in the ILT20.

Abu Dhabi Knight Riders secured Rohid for USD 95,000 at the Season 5 player auction. His signing followed three seasons with MI Emirates and added an experienced UAE-qualified left-arm bowling option to the ADKR squad.

Muhammad Rohid Playing Style

Rohid is primarily a left-arm medium-fast bowler. His bowling profile gives him the ability to attack from a different angle to right-arm pace bowlers, while his career has been built mainly around taking wickets rather than contributing with the bat.

His ILT20 record provides a strong indication of his effectiveness in franchise cricket. Across his first three seasons with MI Emirates, Rohid collected 22 wickets from 19 matches while maintaining a career economy rate of 7.71. His best ILT20 bowling figures during that period were 3/21.

Which Team Does Muhammad Rohid Play for in ILT20?

Muhammad Rohid plays for Abu Dhabi Knight Riders in ILT20 Season 5. ADKR signed the UAE bowler for USD 95,000 during the 2026 player auction, making him one of the franchise’s more valuable local-player acquisitions for the new season.

The move represents a change of ILT20 franchise for Rohid after previously playing for MI Emirates. He now enters Season 5 as part of an ADKR bowling group that includes a mixture of UAE, Afghanistan and overseas talent.

Muhammad Rohid UAE Career

Rohid made his senior T20 international debut for the United Arab Emirates against Kenya on 18 July 2025. He quickly became part of the UAE pace-bowling group and finished his first year of T20I cricket with 19 wickets.

His early international record included best T20I bowling figures of 3/23. Rohid also moved into the UAE’s ODI side in October 2025, making his debut against the United States in Dubai and gaining further experience in 50-over international cricket.

Muhammad Rohid ILT20 Record

Rohid already has substantial ILT20 experience entering his first season with Abu Dhabi Knight Riders. He played 19 matches for MI Emirates across the 2024, 2025 and 2025-26 editions and took 22 wickets from 45 overs.

His most productive campaign came in 2025, when he claimed 10 wickets from five matches. Those wickets came at an average of 14.00 and an economy rate of 7.37, with best figures of 3/24. In the previous 2024 season, he had taken nine wickets with a best of 3/21.

Muhammad Rohid in ILT20 Finals

Rohid’s ILT20 experience extends beyond league-stage matches. He appeared for MI Emirates in the 2024 final against Dubai Capitals and took 1/8 from his over as MI Emirates went on to win the championship.

He was involved in another deep tournament run during the 2025-26 season. Rohid took 2/19 from four overs against Abu Dhabi Knight Riders in Qualifier 2, helping MI Emirates progress to the final. He then appeared in the title match against Desert Vipers.

Muhammad Rohid International Record

Rohid’s UAE career includes both T20I and ODI cricket. His first 17 T20 internationals produced 19 wickets, with best figures of 3/23. He also appeared in three ODIs, taking two wickets during his first matches in the format.

His international progression followed his emergence through UAE domestic and franchise cricket. By 2026, Rohid had experience not only with the national side and MI Emirates but also in other T20 environments, giving him a broader short-format background before his move to Abu Dhabi Knight Riders.

Muhammad Rohid Joins Abu Dhabi Knight Riders

Rohid’s move to Abu Dhabi Knight Riders is notable because he arrives with a proven ILT20 record rather than entering the competition for the first time. His 22 wickets across three previous editions give ADKR a UAE bowler who already understands the tournament and has experience in knockout matches.

The USD 95,000 investment also made Rohid one of the highest-priced UAE players at the Season 5 auction. Only Muhammad Waseem and new ADKR teammate Alishan Sharafu attracted higher prices among the leading UAE acquisitions highlighted after the auction.

What Muhammad Rohid Brings to ADKR in Season 5

Season 5 starts a new chapter in Rohid’s ILT20 career. After taking all 22 of his previous league wickets in MI Emirates colours, he will have the opportunity to build his record with Abu Dhabi Knight Riders for the first time.

For ADKR, the value of the signing is straightforward: Rohid combines UAE-player eligibility with left-arm pace, senior international experience and a record of taking wickets in the ILT20 itself. His previous appearances in finals and qualifiers also mean that, despite being only 24 at the start of Season 5, he arrives with experience of the competition’s high-pressure stages.
