Nilansh Keswani
Player Information
Player Overview
Nilansh Keswani is a United Arab Emirates cricketer who joins Desert Vipers for DP World ILT20 Season 5. Born on 8 August 2003, he bats left handed and bowls slow left-arm orthodox spin. The current Desert Vipers squad classifies him as an all-rounder, while the ICC lists his primary role as a bowler. Keswani has represented the UAE at senior international level and previously played for the country’s Under-19 team.
Career Background
Keswani developed through UAE age-group cricket and represented the national Under-19 side before moving into senior cricket. He was part of the UAE squad at the 2022 ICC Under-19 Cricket World Cup. His senior T20I career began in 2023, when he made his debut against Bahrain. Keswani later expanded his international experience into 50-over cricket, making his ODI debut against Nepal in April 2026.
Playing Style
Keswani’s main bowling skill is slow left-arm orthodox spin. This style allows a left-arm finger spinner to turn the ball away from a right-handed batter. In T20 cricket, that can be useful for controlling the middle overs and creating different match-ups against a batting order. Keswani also bats left handed, giving Desert Vipers another lower-order batting option alongside his primary contribution with spin.
UAE International Career
Keswani has represented the UAE in both T20I and ODI cricket. The ICC records his senior international debut in 2023 and shows that he remained part of the UAE setup through 2026. By October 2026, he had played 13 T20 internationals. His experience also includes UAE domestic and development cricket, giving him familiarity with the conditions in which the ILT20 is played.
Desert Vipers Development Pathway
Keswani was already connected with Desert Vipers before joining the main Season 5 squad. He represented Desert Vipers Development during the 2026 ILT20 Development Tournament. The team reached the final of that competition in September. His involvement gave him experience within the Vipers environment before the franchise secured him for the senior ILT20 squad at the Season 5 player auction.

He is one of the UAE players in the squad alongside Khuzaima Bin Tanveer, Vriitya Aravind and Sanjay Pahal. His promotion from the Vipers Development setup to the senior Season 5 squad provides another example of the franchise using its local development programme to identify UAE-based players.
