Born on 9 October 1993, Stone is one of England’s quickest bowlers and has built a reputation as a genuine pace threat at county and international level despite a career frequently interrupted by injuries.

Stone began his county career at Northamptonshire where his raw pace immediately stood out, earning him selection for the England Under 19 side for a Youth Test series against South Africa. He moved to Warwickshire ahead of the 2017 season and continued to impress selectors before making his international breakthrough. He suffered serious cartilage and anterior ligament damage in 2015 while celebrating a wicket in a county match, forcing him to miss over a year of cricket at a time when he was drawing consistent attention from England selectors. After his comeback in 2017 he showed he had lost none of his pace, consistently clocking 92 mph in his first class return.

Stone made his ODI debut on England’s Sri Lanka tour and followed that with a Test debut against Ireland at Lord’s in 2019 in a historic day night Test.
