Richard Ngarava is a Zimbabwean left arm fast medium bowler born on 29 December 1997 in Harare. He is one of Zimbabwe’s most consistent pace bowling options across all formats and has represented Zimbabwe at international level since 2019. Ngarava was part of Zimbabwe’s 2016 Under-19 World Cup squad and has developed into a reliable wicket taker with the new ball and at the death overs. He made his Test debut against Pakistan in 2021, picking up two wickets in the match.
Playing Style
Ngarava bowls left arm fast medium and uses his natural angle, pace and bounce to challenge batters consistently. He is particularly effective with the new ball where he can generate movement through the air and off the pitch. His left arm angle creates difficulty for right handed batters in particular. As a lower order left handed batter, he can add useful runs when required but his primary value remains his wicket taking ability with the ball across all phases of a T20 innings.
